The COVID-19 pandemic and its disastrous consequences will certainly impact the upcoming US presidential election. With President Trump already making election pitches, Piplsay (powered by Market Cube) reached out to Americans nationwide to understand their opinions about President Trump’s leadership or the lack of it. Political parties can leverage this data in their decision making.
The COVID-19 pandemic is taking a heavy toll on American lives, as the government desperately tries to contain the situation. Through all this, has President Trump managed to impress Americans with his leadership or has he exposed himself as being short-sighted? Piplsay polled 30,399 Americans to get these insights. Here’s a summary of what we found:
- 31% of Baby boomers are very happy with President Trump’s response to COVID-19 as compared to just 16% of Gen Zers and 24% of Millennials
- Only 30% of women and 38% of men think President Trump’s response to COVID-19 will affect his election prospects positively
- 50% of New Jersey residents and 48% of New York residents (two worst-affected states) are upset with Trump’s initial denial of the pandemic
- 34% of Hispanics are uncertain about the stimulus package benefits as compared to 32% of Blacks and 30% of Whites
